Old erector sets are pretty common so the value isn't that high. It comes down to their value is what the buyer thinks it's worth. There has been several older sets on an online auction lately that sold for around $50.00 and the whole set was there. Maybe they will increase in value as years go by.

Value can vary based on age, condition, rarity and completeness of the set. Check eBay to see if a set similar to the one you have is listed.

The best way to find the value of something these days is to look through eBay for completed auctions and see what people are actually paying for something. I know with toys having the box is incredibly important. Antiques Roadshow harps on condition and complete. Take a look through the antique toy sections and see if there's anything similar.
