Gene Krupa (1909-1973) was one of the most influential drummers in modern history. Known in the Big Band era for his "syncopated style," he developed techniques that are now considered standard for any drummer. He also had a music school and counted Peter Criss of KISS among his students.

Gene Krupa was born 1/15/1909. He grew up to be a famous drummer who was active in swing and jazz music. Besides his talent on the drums, he was a composer and bandleader. He was so famous Sal Mineo played him in a movie biography, "The Gene Krupa Story" in 1959. Krupa died in 1973.
