From personal experience there are many ways to get ride of yellow jackets. Many are dangerous to the enviormnet or yourself. You can also spend a lot of money on expensive chemicals and poisons which can harm you or loved ones in the area. I have found that pouring bleach down the hole gets the queen and the whole colony.

Here's how I did it. It is safe based on the fact I didn't get stung. I took raw gasoline and put it into a sprayer. I waited until night and blasted those suckers with a big load. The next day all dead.
