If you are shopping because you are trying to make yourself feel better and not because you actually want or need new things, you may have a spending or shopping addiction. If this is the case, you should try to seek help because this addiction can cause people to run out of funds to live on.

Shopping sprees happen for a variety of reasons. Some of these reasons can be connected to mental health. When people are depressed, there are those that find comfort in shopping. They state that going out and buying new clothes make them feel good. There are also cases where individuals with bipolar disorder will go on sprees during a manic time.

Sometimes people can go on spending sprees when they are in the manic phase of bipolar disorder or have impulse control issues. But typically for most people spending activates the reward centers of the brain temporarily, which makes you feel better for a while.
