Candida is usually thought to result from the weakness of the immune system following antibiotic theraphy. The unbalanced endocrine system play role in candida overgrowth. Once the candida albicans species are overgrown they can bind to hormones changing their key shape. So they are unable to fit lock in their receptor. they mainly affect the adrenal hormones.

When there is a hyperactivity of adrenal gland one of its consecuences is a lower activity of inmune system. For this reason is more probable for candida to infect and grow because it is a oportunist infection. One example of this is candidiasis in tongue in Cushing Syndrome.

Adrenals are two small glands located directly above each kidneys. Their main functions are - regulation of inflammatory processes, sensitivity to allergens, energy production and overall health. Their malfunction can lead to inflammations due to infections resulting from over production of candida in human body.
