The first step in becoming a missionary is to decide what religion/denomination you feel is best with which to be affiliated. Next, you will have to become a member of the church of your choice. Finally, speak with the pastor to find out where that church sends help.

You will first need to be a member of a local church. They will refer you to a missionary board. Many missionary boards, such as Baptist Mid Missions will help you to focus on getting support by visiting many churches and asking them to support your for a certain amount per month.
