I call immediately after she gives me the number to make sure it is real and I got it right, then I call that night or next day. If she likes you, she'll be happy to hear from you quickly.

I don't think there is a rule about this. You don't want to wait so long that she forgets who you are! And you don't want to be a pest and irritate her. I'd wait a day or two, and not much longer. After all, she may be anxiously waiting to hear from you!

It is different in different situations. Generally, within 2 to 3 days is a good standard to follow. If you wait longer than that it may appear rude and she may lose interest. Exceptions to the rule would include if you have a good reason not to get in touch sooner and in that case you could let her know.
