Children should get between 8 and 10 hours of sleep. My son was in bed by 8:00 p. m. from age birth to 13. From 13 to 16 he was in bed by 9:00 p. m. Now that he is almost 17, his bedtime curfew is 10:00 p. m. On Friday and Saturday he gets to stay up an hour longer.
