It should be 16 lbs. pressure to the cap. If you look on the cap it should say but if you think the cap is not sustaining proper pressure then you might want to replace it.

The radiator cap for your 1995 XJ is between 12-16psi or 83-110 kPa. It should be on the cap that is on the system now. Don't replace it with one that is lower or higher as this can cause the system to boil over sooner or not release pressure soon enough.

The radiator is an excellent source of heat for an environment; however, radiators are also converters of energy. Radiators are responsible for central heating and cooling in buildings. Particularly useful in vehicles, radiators utilize the coolant to cool internal combustion engines. For this particular make and model of vehicle, the radiator cap pressure is sixteen pounds.

it should be stamped on the cap, should be something in PSI. If not you can probably go to an auto parts store like Auto Zone & they will look it up for you. Whatever you do please so not try & take if off while your engine is hot or even a little warm or you'll get burned.

The six cylinder should have a 16lb cap and the eight cylinder should have an 18lb one. To be sure contact a local dealer or parts store.
