As far as Preferred Term, that would depend on what part of the country you live in. It is kinda life soda, some places call it pop, others soda, and even Fizzy. Latter Day Saints go by that name, along with Mormon, and sometimes Witnesses.

"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" This is the name as given by the Lord in modern day revelation and recorded in the Doctrine and Covenants section 115, verse 4. 'Thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.'
