Aside from their high protein content, nuts are an excellent source of essential fatty acids, which help to prevent heart disease. Nuts are also an excellent source of vitamin E and fiber. While high in fat, nuts are actually a very nutritious food when eaten in moderation.

Nuts contain healthy fats which help elevate your "healthy" count of cholesterol. 1 or 2 ounces a day is plenty though, as they do contain a lot of calories/fat.

The healthiest nut is the almond. It has the most protein. Most nuts are around 140-160 calories per serving with about 14-16 grams of fat, but no worries these are mostly good fats. And depending on which nuts, they can contain anywhere from 5-12 grams of protein

The nutritional content varies depending on the type of nut. Almonds contain vitamin e and magnesium. Brazil nuts are high in selenium and phosphorus. All edible nuts are high in nutrition, fiber and antioxidants. Peanuts have one of the highest levels of protein of all nuts.
