The lifespan of cats are determined by the environment in which they live. Outdoor cats' faces more problems than that of indoor cats like climate change, accidents, prey to other animals etc. , so the normal life span of the outdoor cats is only 3-4 years compared to the lifespan of indoor cats which lives between 12-15 years.

The normal lifespan of a cat is about 12-15 years. Outdoor cats don't usually survive that long, though with proper care and nutrition an indoor cat can live to be 20 or 21. Anything older than that is very unusual, though there have been claims of cats living into their thirties.

The life span of a cat is usually 7-8 years. I had a cat once and she lived for 9 years but usually the cats live upto 8 years. I had a friend whose cat died at the age of 6 so it all depends how good you take care of the cat and how healthy the cat is.

Cats can live a long time, depending on the quality of life and food available. Some cats can live up to 20-25 years. A typical INDOOR cat will live about 10-15 years. Cats allowed out side have a much lower rate of survival. Ensure your can gets exercise and talk to your vet about what food is best.
