I have used ffmpeg and although it doesn't have a graphic interface it really support a huge range of codecs for free, but there is also Final Cut but is very expensive but a good inversion.

most of the decoder on the market are almost the same. some of the best aat least for me are stereoscopic player, bs player and Avi Codec Pack.
