Suppressing your emotions will not make them go away, it will only make it worse. The best way to help yourself be less emotional is to find ways of dealing with your emotions. Find positive ways to channel them. You can do this by talking to someone about what you are upset about and learning to recognize when you hysteria.

If you really want your emotions to be supressed, try thinking about something else. But you're probably better off experiencing your emotions.

Having patience is key, when you realize that you are becoming sad or angry, take a moment to think about why you feel the way you do and consider your reaction - is it appropriate for the situation.

It is not healthy to suppress your emotions generally speaking. The most effective route to take is to find the root of your emotional outbursts. What is making you sad or angry? Find the source and work on resolving the problem.
