Cocomo 2 focuses on software projects of 90's and 2000's. It uses 17 cost drivers in which you can assess the project, development environment, and team to each cost driver.

Cocomo is limited by its lack of factors to account for difference in project attributes. Cocomo 2 is good for modern software development processes, with updated project database and has projects built with modern GUI-builder tools. It estimates project's expenditure and duration before you have to find its complete architecture.

The only thing I know about cocomo 2 is, that you have different ways to estimate the status quo of your software project.
