What is the law in Illinois regarding guardianship?

The law indicates that anyone above the age of 18 is capable of taking care of his/ or her affairs. A guradian is only appointed if the person is disabled.

A guardian is a chosen person appointed to make legal decisions for a person who is unable to make those decisions on their own usually a child or some one who has become incapacited through age or disability. Guardianships and the law information would be useful in persuing legal answers.

In the Land of Lincoln if you hold something in your possesion you are its guardian. This also applies to dependents.
