Flemish Giants are well known as being one of the largest rabbits. Another variety to consider is the Californian or the Checkered Giants. I have raised Flemish Giants myself and find them to be great pets, as a general rule the large breeds tend to be calm rabbits. If you want large rabbits focus on the meat producing breeds

The largest breed of rabbit is called the German Giant. This rare rabbit is a record holder at 20-30 pounds. The most common pet rabbit, that's very large, is the Flemish Giant. The rabbits most common color is a blue gray. Flemish Giants become so large the females often have double chins and both sexes weigh in at 15-18 pounds.

One of the largest breeds is the Flemmish giant. Roughly 2-2 1/2 feet long. Next in size could be the newzeland or the californian. These are all rabbits that have been bread to be meat rabbits, but they make great pets.
