The answer depends upon what you mean by "largest. " In terms of land mass, Russia is by far larger than any other nation. However, large stretches of Russia are very thinly populated. If you mean the largest in terms of population, that would be China, again by a large margin.

Largest nation by land volume is Russia. Russia has land mass is Asia and Europe. The largest nation by population is China followed by India.
