The Cullinan diamond, weighing about 621g, found in the Premier Diamond Mine in Cullinan (today known as Gauteng), South Africa, on January 26, 1905. It was presented to King Edward VII, and was cut down to a number of smaller gems. These are part of the UK crown jewels.
