What is the "Islamic doctrine?"

I hear it referred to on panel discussions on news shows.

The Islamic faith is set upon five pillars of behavior. 1.The creedalprayer of acceptance of Allah (There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his prophet 2. Prayer five times a day 3.A trip to Mecca during your life 4. The giving of a fifth of your income to the faith 5.Celebrating Ramadan each year

1. You must profess that Allah is the only God and he has no son. 2. You must pray to Mecca five times a day. 3. Give to the poor. 4. Travel to Mecca if you can. 5. Do not eat during the day during Ramadan.

It is just another way of saying the "Muslim faith" or "practice of Islam". What was meant exactly would depend on the show - Muslims are not all the same.
