Argentina was populated by native peoples, it was discovered as early precursors to today's Indians arrived in the western hemisphere as long ago as 20-30,000 years ago. Some believe the migrations to be more recent. It was then "discovered" by the Spanish in the early 1500's leading to the reduction and destruction of native populations.
