How can I retrieve deleted history?

I know someone deleted their internet browsing history, but is there any way for me to get it back and see it?

The easiest way to do this is by using the system recovery feature in windows. It is in the accessories folder of your start menu, however, i suggest that you go into windows help and have it walk you through system recovery.

You may try using a file recovery utility. The navigation history is stored in many folders and files inside the "Documents an Settings" folder

Theoretically, any files on a computer that's been recently deleted can be recovered by specialized software. In practice, this usually involves going to more trouble than any typical user would.

There is no good way to do this. Once browsing history has been deleted it is purged from the system

Well, to be honest with you there is no way to see that history any more. Therefore, you are out of luck. What you can do though in the future, is that you can install a key logger on the computer which will keep tracks of all things visited to.

Retrieving deleted history may be frightening, but it is not the end all. Use specialized software, for 'undeleting'(data recovery) to get your internet browsing history back. WinUndelete, NTFS, and ACTIVE@ are just three of the best recovery software's out there.

The only way to do it is get a file retrieval program to "undelete" the information. You need to point the program to the folder that holds the history.

I think you can not. But for a next time you should get some software to save backup. Like Norton Ghost. But for now I think you can not get data back because windows just deleted it.

If you can find your way into the browser's cache, you may retreive some of the information but not all of it, as long that hasn't been cleaned up as well. Good Luck.
