Legally, the highest that the Xbox supports is 250 GB. Though there are tricks online where people can buy 500 to 700 GB hard drives and using certain software can make it so that the Xbox can use it. Though, that is up to you to decide if you wish to risk it because it will void Xbox's warranty.

Although the hard drive limit on and xbox seems to be never ending there is indeed a limtit. An Xbox is full when it reaches a limit of 137 GBs.

The limit is 137 gb because of bios restrictions -the bios cannot identify disks with more disk space than 137gb. This limit can be overridden by replacing the original bios with a customized one that can address past the 137 gb limit and then any disk with more capacity can be used.

Traditionally the Xbox only has about 8 Gigabytes of hard drive space available. With special modifications this number can virtually be as large as you want, depending on what type of hardware you put into your box. I can not condone modding your xbox however, because it is usually both illegal, and puts you at risk of ruining your system.

From what I understand there is a 137Gigabit hard drive limit on the Xbox that is the largest hard drive that is avaiable for this particular system as far as I know.

Remember back when the Xbox first came out. I wanted to know the same thing. Know from what i read it was a 10 gig drive. But the software inside made it where it was completely impossible to fill it up with song and saved games. Believe me I have tried. But never manage to fill it up.
