It can last anywhere from 58-65 fays where the average is about 63 days. i would say be prepared for the puppies around 50 days just in case all of the puppies decide to sprout early.

The gestation period for ALL DOGS averages 9 weeks. It does not matter if your dog is a Yorkie or a Great Dane it will always have a gestation period of 9 weeks. In other words about two months and a week. Plan to have the area she will whelp in ready before she gives birth.

The aveerage gestation period for all dogs is about 63 days. It is not surprising if the pups come a couple days early or a couple days overdue. On average a sheperd will have between 6 and 9 puppies. You will want to make sure that the mum sees a vet after as calcium suppliments are often needed.
