Adrenal glands are endocrine glands that produce hormones with different functions, due to the two distinct parts they are made of, the adrenal cortex and the medulla. The adrenal cortex produces corticosteroids like cortisol, aldosterone and androgens. The medulla produces catecholamines like epinephrine and norepinephrine.

They are located above the kidneys and excrete various hormones and are primarily responsible for regulating stress in the body.
