Calcium is an element and so it is made of only Ca, it's atomic symbol. It is normally present in it's dry form as a salt, such as calcium carbonate (CaCO3), or in solution as a free calcium ion (Ca2+). In it's elemental state (Ca) it is a soft reactive metal.

The chemical formula for calcium is Ca. It is located in the Alkali Earth Metals series on the periodic table, in group 2 and period 4. The atomic number of calcium is 20, meaning it has 20 protons in the nucleus of its atom. Pure calcium is a shiny metal that is soft and reacts violently with water.

Am not sure that you are not confusing between chemical formula and symbol.Chemical formulas are for compounds (which are a combination of two or more elements in fixed ratios) while symbols are for free elements. Calcium, therefore, being an element has no chemical formula but a chemical symbol which is Ca.
