The very first thing to do is write a detailed business plan. This will force you to consider all aspects of the business, including location, marketing/advertising, insurance, employees, inventory, vehicles, equipment, etc. You'll also find out about licenses, permits and taxes, then you can put together a budget to see how much money you need for build-up and start-up

First steps in starting a nursery is finding a location to plant your trees and plants. The ground must be fertile so plants and trees can grow successfully. After locating your space and preparing the soil, you must create a plan by creating a list of plants you would like to grow. The list should be followed regarding planting seasons.

When starting any business you should look at the short term and long term goals and write them out. Also observe the cost and expense of running the nursery.

First you should evaluate the business environment. Do you have the resources: capital, work force, real estate? How do you intend the business to be formed: LLC, Inc, partnership, FLP? Are you willing to accept the liability involved, or do you have the resources to protect yourself from liability? These questions should be answered before cashing in your nest egg.
