What is the dollar amount that puts a movie in the category of "low budget films?"

I've seen several that are really good.

Low Budget films usually contain unknown actors and usually the movie is produced by an unknown company. Llw budget films generally are under 1 million dollars

There is no exact amount which would put a movie in the category of "low budget films," but generally if the spending is under $2 million it's considered as such.

There really isn't a set dollar limit that classifies a movie as low budget. It is determined by what country it's made in and it's genre.

Films that are made (not counting the cost of distribution and advertising) for less than USD$10 million would usually be considered "low budget" by those in the industry. Frequently, low budget independently made movies (known as "indies") are bought up by the larger movie studios for distribution once they have made the rounds at film festivals.
