What is the difference between the Lakers' white, yellow and purple jerseys?

I know there are light and dark for home and away games, but why do they have 3 colored jerseys? And which is for what?

The Lakers regular home jerseys are the purple ones, while their regular away jerseys are the yellow ones. On Sunday games and holidays, they wear the white jerseys.

The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the best basketball teams in the NBA, and therefore, have a huge fan following. They have three different jerseys, all for different occasions. Fans love the different jerseys and their colors are unique compared to other teams in the league.
