Lexapro is the working halve of Celexa. So they contain the same working molecule, only in Lexapro they filtered out the non functional halve, which is folded differently i.e. it has a different 3d configuration. The consequence: the mg's on celexa are double those of lexapro, nothing else.

There are many similarities as they are both in the same class of anti-depressants. Lexapro has been officially approved to treat depression and anxiety by the FDA. Celexa has been FDA approved for depression but has not been for anxiety. Lexapro is the newer medication of the two and is not available in generic, while Celexa does have a generic.
