Your "immediate family" would be you, your siblings, your mother and your father. I don't think significant others are included in that.

Immediate family are the closest relations. Your immediate family includes your siblings and your parents, your spouse if you are married, and your children. An employer may choose to define "immediate family" differently but for the most part, it is comprised of the family members to whom we are most closely related.

A person's immediate family really could be defined as close, blood related relatives, such as your parents, siblings, and grandparents because if you were discussing your medical history, you would be asked about their health conditions. However, some or most people consider their adopted siblings and children, step-parents, siblings or children and in-laws to be their immediate family as well.

The most classic definition is a husband, wife, their respective parents and their children (three generations). This is also known as a "nuclear family. " It does not include aunts/uncles or cousins. More modern versions now expand the definition to include stepchildren and often any others living as permanent dependents in the household.
