Normally you want 10psi of pressure for every 1000rpm but this is the bare minimum. So at idle you would want at least 10psi. If you don't have access to a psi gauge and you are just using a normal stock gauge then as long as you can see there is pressure at idle you should be fine.

The minimum oil pressure on your car should be 21.7 psi at idle. Always make sure that your oil level is in the acceptable range and check the pressure at normal operating temperature.

Normal pressure in the system depends on the depreciation system. When did you last replaced the oil? for your car normal rate should be about 2.2 atmosphere. ask the owners of cars with the same engine. ask for the manufacturer of their car. there must be an information you are interested in

The correct oil pressure at idle for a 1998 Cadillac Catera is between seven and twelve. Anything higher or lower is bad.
