HPV stands for human papilloma virus, which is a virus that is spread through sexual contact. Its basically a virus that has mutated, and now causes cervical cancer.

HPV is a sexually transmitted disease. It causes Pelvic Inflammatory disease. HPV is a virus that is passed by having sexual contact with another person. Often there are no symptoms once you have caught the virus. HPV can lead to Pelvic Inflammatory Disease which can lead to cervical cancer and infertility.

It is spread through sexual contact but also hereditary. Virgins could still be carriers if they got it from their parents at birth. Both men and women can be carriers.

The common cause is human papillomaviruses. There are over one hundred types of these viruses. About thirty of these are spread through sexual contact. Most are considered harmless. However, some can cause precancerous growths or cancer. There are many different conditions that can occur. It depends on the type of virus that a person has and how it was transmitted.
