There is no technical, botanical definition of 'weed' -- a weed is simply an unwanted plant, a plant in the wrong place at the wrong time. So in your case it becomes a matter of identifying which plants you want to thrive, and pulling all the others out.

Weeds are something which are growing where you don't want it to. But flowers are one you make an effort to plant and grow. You can use some weed killer that will kill only weeds. If you observe the leaves of a plant you can understand whether it is a good plant or weed.
