What is the best way to remove rust from a bike frame?

Rust is due to the moisture on the frame. If we keep the bike always dry we can get rid of the rust. To remove the rust ,rub the area with a mixture of kerosene and coconut oil and leave it a day or two.Clean the frame with this mixture daily. It will prevent rust.

I like to use an S.O.S pad. Have warm water in a bowl and a paper towel and dip the pad in the water. Lightly apply the pad to the bike. Press as hard as it takes to remove the rust. Try not to makes grooves in the paint by pressing to hard. It usually comes off faily easy.

If the rust has already eaten through the metal, it is too late. If it is only on the surface, a combination of steel wool followed by metal polish should do the trick.

For some minor rust around the welded joints, don't bother. Just leave it there. If it's pretty major, the best way I know is to sand it to bare metal and then repaint the bike. It's a lot of work, you might find a power sander or a sand blaster to be easier to use.

To remove rust from a bike frame is to use brake fluid and a sponge and scrub the rust off it will take awhile

Well typically you would sand it by hand or if it is deep use a wire brush on a drill. Otherwise you could use some rust converter on it.

wash the bike good and then dry good and let to make sure it s dry then take scraper and scrape all the big flake off,then get sand paper and sand awayall the rust

sometimes you can use sandpaper to do it. also, you could have someone sandblast or beadblast it. this method usually is more effective because it removes all of the rust from the metal.

The best thing to do is to take your bike to a repair shop and have them take care of it. They know what they are doing.
