What is the best way to remove an acrylic finish from a wood table?

I don't want to harm the wood.

In order to remove the acrylic finish from the wood table you can do one of two things. You can either sand the table to remove the finish and get down to the raw wood. This won't damage the wood. You can also purchase a product which is meant to remove all top layers such as an acrylic finish.

Use a stripper! Brush the stripper on and wait atleast 15 minutes and test to see how easy it will come off. If not ready, leave on for another 15 minutes. Gently scrape with plastic scraper in direction of wood grain. Multiple coats of acrylic, may need several applications. After stripping, clean wood with stripper pad and a little water.

If that is the case, I would gently sand it off. Just be careful not to sand too much of it off. I don't think there would be a better way to do it.
