You should prepare by studying. One excellent study guide is the Idiot's Guide to the SATs. It will help you review math, study grammar rules, and practice reading. Also, do not study vocabulary words; instead, study root words. Knowing Latin and Greek roots will help you understand unknown words.

Do SAT practice questions. Buy the best books on SAT practice available online (free Ebooks at Scribd. com) or in bookstore. I'd recommend Kaplan.

I find the best way to prepare for the SAT is to do several practice tests to get a feel for the layout. Other than that, studying words helps!

Study before the test, but don't cram all the information in one night. There are plenty of SAT study books out there as well as things like online websites with practice tests. It's better to take a practice test first and study the subjects you aren't as good at more.
