Combing. You'll want to do the lice-shampoo thing and run all linens through the hottest laundry cycle and put toys in the freezer and all that, but combing the child's hair twice a day for weeks was the only thing that finally got totally rid of them for us.

Wash all bedding, towels, and clothes. Wash the head at least 2 time with an insecticidal shampoo. You may even want to cut your hair too.

To get rid of lice the easiest and most effective way is to go to your doctor and get a prescription shampoo. There are also many natural alternatives such as using mayonnaise. You simply comb through hair and then wash it out and use regular shampoo to clean hair. This is a cheap and effective method.

If your household is under attack of lice and you can't get rid of them make sure that you are cleaning everything from bedding to toys your children may play with. You can use products that are designed to kill lice or you can simply use tea tree oil to kill them off for a more natural way.

Kill them by slathering hair in mayonnaise and putting on a shower cap for two hours. Shampoo the hair thoroughly. Remove eggs by rinsing with vinegar, and then hot water.
