What is the best thing for a cockatiel to chew on?

Bird safe woods are great, just avoid the toxic ones. Baby toys such as plastic chain links and such are also great. Baby blocks are good as long as the wood is safe and they are either unpainted or have lead free paint.

Cockatiels are inquisitive birds and will chew on anything! Provide them with a selection of toys, being sure to rotate weekly. Things that can be chewed, torn, and peeled will keep them occupied. Provide interesting goodies for them and have them "work" for apple slices, cheerios and other fruits and veggies strung on a heavy thread or small rope.

Natural tree branch perches make wonderful chew toys. Lava rocks and toys with leather or rope fringes are fun. Treats that you can hang in his cage will keep him busy and offer a treat at the same time. Your local pet store will carry a variety of supplies to keep your cockatiel's beak/nails trim and his mind occupied.

There are many toys available in pet stores specifically made for cockatiels. Most toys have brightly colored wood (veggie dye), untreated leather strips, even woven palm fronds. You can cut a paper towel tube into 2in wide pieces and most cockatiels will happily destroy it. You can even cut a clean cardboard box into strips to be chewed up.

It all depends on what the chewing is for. If its for a healthier beak then i would suggest one of those calcium supplement bones. If its just for the birds fun then anything non toxic is fine.

I'd say one of the best things for any bird to chew on is a bit of bark or a soft vitamin block or some kind of hard meterial that to them tastes like there food make sure you clean the objects first if you bring it in form outside as it could be infected your bird a nasty disease

buy alot of toys and some with raw hide and wood thing for them to chew it up and make sure you change them out you can even put a small stuff aminel
