What is the best day of the week to see a Broadway play?

I was thinking about crowds, costs, etc.

There are matinees available during the week, usually on a Tuesday or Wednesday, which are usually less expensive and crowded than the evening and weekend performances. If cost is the main concern, try buying your tickets from the TKTS booth in Times Square. TKTS offers steep discounts to hit shows.

In terms of cost, it will be constant throughout the week. This may differ between theaters as they may have special offers etc. To avoid crowds choose Monday.

To avoid crowds, going during the work week is best. A Thursday evening is a perfect example of a relatively quiet and inexpensive night at the theater. Friday, Saturday and Sunday performances are the most crowded. Avoid days with two performances if you want to see the star performer, as the understudy will often perform on days with matinee shows.
