I have found Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday to be the cheapest days to fly. Sunday, Monday, and Friday appear to be the most expensive days to book a flight. Southwest has great Tuesday and Wednesday deals and flies to LAX often.

In my experience, flying on an actual holiday is cheaper than the days surrounding it. For example, flying on Thanksgiving Day is cheaper than flying the day before. Another typically cheap day is Wednesday since it is mid-week and any weekend flyers would not be flying on that day. However, it pays to check with various airlines.

Check with the airlines. Rates depends on the time, day, season, calendar, length of stay, and point of departure. It is less expensive to fly very early in the a.m. and very late at night. Rates depends, too, on the length of the visit and the days of the week it spans.

Monday to Thursday are the cheapest days to fly. Do not go on a holiday cause there will be more fees, crowds, and traffic. If you go through a travel agency you may get better week day rates.

The cheapest days to fly are usually the middle of the week such as tuesday, wednesday, and thursday. The most expensive days to fly are holidays, fridays, and monday. Just stay away from these days and aim for the middle of the week and you should find and good discount on the flight.

The best days are those in least demand. The majority of travel tends to be business travelers, flying predominantly on Sundays, Mondays and Fridays. In my years of experience as a business flyer, I found that the cheapest days for me to book personal flights were Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.
