It used to be that a standard double car garage door was 16x7, but that has changing. While most new garage doors are now 8 feet in height, that can vary up to 14 feet to house the larger vehicles now on the market. Likewise the width has also changed and it is common to find doors wider.

Standard garage door sizes can and do vary in many different ways. However, an average single garage door, is approximately 9-feet wide by 7-feet tall (2.7 meters by 2.1 meters). If you want to consider a double garage door, it's approximately 18 feet wide x 24 feet tall (5.5meters x 7.3 meters)
