It seems that things go from concept to commercial with a lot of planning and precise study of the demographic they intend to show the commercial to. I think that companies do not foolishly put out a commercial. I am sure that a lot of market research goes into the decision of something going to commercial.

The advertising process starts with the business determining what and how they want to market a specific product. The ad agency comes in next to help the business develop the strategy to sell the product. After that it's then up to the ad agency to come up with the commercial.

Typically, several people in a marketing department make a pitch for an ad that will represent the emotional qualities the company wants to associate with their produce, along with the central message they want to convey. After that, the concept is drawn up frame-by-frame before the commercial is shot.

I would say they must go pass by various tests in order to address any flaws in the original design, developers must think and re-think the design in order to make sure that the product would be both attractive and profitable.
