Poison ivy has an oil that causes a very itchy rash. Always assume you're allergic to it even though there might be a time you are exposed but don't get it. The rash usually lasts 2 weeks however if you get steroids from the doctor, it will leave faster. The plant has 3 leaves "Three leaves be aware of me"

Research show that no person is immune from poison ivy allergy. Although there had been interviews from people who say that they are not allergic to the effects of the plant. Well no one wants to get intolerable nor blistering itch, so it is advisable not to be exposed to it repeatedly.
