Literary criticism has nothing to do with whether a work is "perfect;" Criticism evaluates a work, analyzes it and interprets it based on the author's knowledge and experience. The author may point out weaknesses as well as strengths of a work. Critiques of "Hamlet" are lengthy, involved and scholarly.

Hamlet has been accused of being too racy for the time it was written. The subject of incest and sexuality hold strong roles in this play.
