Satire is, for the most part, poking fun. It is defined as a literary form, but it is found in performing and graphic arts as well. Satire uses irony, derision, ridicule and other methods to mock individual failings or vices. It is meant to be funny, but it is often used as "weapon of wit."

Satire is a style of humor that's often used in books, films, television and performance art. Satire is used to expose the failings, wrongdoings and foibles of others by shining a sarcastic, ironic or absurd light on them. Satire often mirrors and presents itself as that which is being ridiculed.
