It is wine made from red grapes. But the juice is left only short time with squished grapeskin. So, instead of taking a red color it becomes only pinkish.

Rose Wine is made with grapes, but instead of peeling the grapes before juicing them the skins are left on. During the process instead of getting white wine or red wine something between the two is created. It is normally pink in color, and can be anywhere from pale pink to almost red.
