Rag crochet is great fun and is also eco-friendly. Use up your scraps of linen or preferably tee-shirt material, tear these into strips and roll into balls. Use your biggest crochet hook and you can turn out mats, bags and rugs. Use a variety of colors and join them in.

Take old clothing and cut or rip it into strips. Sew them together end to end. With a large crochet needle you can fashion a nice rag rug. Try searching under rag rugs. You can also do this by braiding the strips then coiling them and stitching where they connect.
