What is ntoskml.exe in xp?

I keep getting an error message that my the ntoskrnl.exe file is corrupt, I have no idea what this is.

The correct spelling of this file is ntoskrnl. exe. It contains code that windows loads that provide core routines that have a high level of both memory space protection and processor priority. These are routines that Windows calls but application programmers should never ever call.

ntoskrnl. exe was replaced as part of a recent Microsoft upgrade (KB929338) REinstall your anti virus program, because it detects the change that made in ntoskrnl. exe. no need to worry.

Ntoskml. EXE is the operating system Kernel For Windows XP. And It is Essential Windows Component. This Is the low level Communication Tool That Allows Windows Function Properly. It Is Used For NetBios Traffic and System DNS. To Reinstall This File Run The Windows XP CD goto to Setup windows and then Press R For Repair Installation then follow the Instructions.

it's actually ntoskrnl. exe,and it stands for nt os kernel. It is the main part of the operating system that starts before any of the gui elements,and is what controls most elements of the operating system. WIthout ntoskrnl,the system would just not boot.
