There are three different materials companies use to make the mesh of a lacrosse stick. Most companies nowadays make use of synthetic materials like nylon. Some lacrosse mesh is made out of thin strips of leather. And, some lacrosse mesh is made out of animal sinew that has been treated, these ones are difficult to find these days.

There are a lot of different types of lacrosse mesh that you can use on your lacrosse stick. The toughest and most durable is Nylon string, and then Sidewall string, then Shooting string, then Leather string, and then least tough is Hockey lace. Nylon is quickly becoming the most used type of lace though
